Done

The tree small quilts. Really really simple, 5" squares, only if I had the fabric in charm packs :)

Plus, the heilroom quilt and the Echino one got themselves new names. Not bad at all for the third try with free motion, I might say.

I think I might have found that mojo I lost some time ago :)), 'cause I also made a huge pillow and a really really scrappy quilt, but I still need to take decent pictures.

P.S. Any ideas about writing names other than applique, embrodery or free motion would be very much appreciated.

  1. Wow, 3+, well done! You deserve a sleep in this weekend! Only other thing I can think of for names would be stamping with permanent ink/dye, rather than with stitches. You could do it on a piece of fabric first and then just incorporate it in the quilt.

  2. Wow! You have the Mojo!!!! I love your FMQ. I was thinking of a white quilt with a poem written in free motion. I usually make labels to write the names of the owner... No other ideas, sorry! Beautiful projects you have there! Congrats!

  3. My easy (cheating) way of marking fabric: Textile Markers - http://direct.hobbycraft.co.uk/products-Edding-4500-Textile-Marker_240376.htm
Can even be used by kids to decorate their own backpack ;)
Really good work on the freemotion, the stitches are almost even! :P I never achieve that, especially on the beginning and ending of the figure.

  5. I love your quilted names! I am actually quite obsessed with words on quilts. I have nearly perfected my FMQ'd wording (to my liking at least) but other ways elude me. I have tried a bit of pieced wording ... but that becomes really tedious. I like the idea of having spoonflower fabric printed with a handwritten letter or something of that nature. I have a pinterest board here that might be inspiring - word quilts http://pinterest.com/emedoodle/word-quilts/

Who doesn't love a comment? Ok, maybe it's not that much fun when you have hundreds of comments at every post and you wanna answer, but you know what? I don't :)). So I have a lot of time to answer :))) Bring'em on
