I can always tell the difference between you Echino quilts. And they are all to die for.*
So, yes, another Echino quilt. That, of course, I am madly in love with.
Every single print in this quilt is just perfect!
The way it folds ...
The way it drapes ...
Just perfect!
One tiny detail, though. Can you focus a little on the pink square with the car?
The right lower corner? See that? That's the side mirror from the car below. Could one guess how many times I thought that's a thread and tried to pick it up? It's ok, I can tell you: a loooot of times!
*of course you must know what I'm talking about.

I'm the Grinch
Well, I said it. I am so not in the mood for Christmas, or anything related. But I did sew. A lot. So here are some of this month's stuff.
The one that I couldn't get a decent photo of, and the one that started the pink madness in my house :)
The crosses came out very quickly, the 5" squares helped a lot. Also, like never before :)), I actually decided what to use before starting cutting, so every cross is made from 3 pieces [2 squares and one rectangle]. Pieceing was so easy!
Not sure I love it with the gray border so much, I think the next one will have no border at all. [next quilt with crosses]
Then the princess baby quilt, made at the same time with baby blue and baby smile.
I tried to get out of the pink obsession with some all-time-favorite Echino, but right after it was finished, along with some custom quilts, I kept thinking about the pink.
So I made the scrappy one.
So soft and thin [backed it with some no name thin and soft fabric], it's one of my favorites and the first one to leave.
But no, this was not enough :)). Again, I put all the larger scraps left with some gray, and made another pinkish one :)
Somewhere along the way I also made three sweet pillows but only made pictures of two of them. A heavily quilted wonky star,
and two of them with the sweetest mini charm pack ever :)
I wanted so much to see for myself Aneela's fabrics but funding really stopped me from getting anything larger. It was just perfect!
But, incredible as it may seem :)), I got over the pink phase. Oh, yeah! Well, kind of :))
Pink and green is different, right? :)))

Almost alive
I am still here, working my butt off, still upset with my camera and still quilting like there's no tomorrow :)).
The [making/ fixing/uploading on flickr/ adding to pools/ copying to blogger] pics thing is, however, so not fun anymore. Considering it works together with [updating my babywearing site, FB page, romanian blog], is taking pretty much all the time I have. And making the computer no fun at all.
So, while I'm here, I should show you something, right?
How about my new obsession for small stuff?
Now back to fixing quilt pics :|

I made a.lot! of pouches. Again :)).
Some FFA III sweetest horses ever
and pretty much every Echino I have.
[Showing only one Echino was a very difficult decision. This one is the smallest. Here are some of the others]

How some quilts work
There are times when I know exactly what I want to do. Pretty much most of the times. But there are, of course, times, when I have no idea what so ever. It happens that I have a little time i should use and no idea at all, or just love a fabric so much I just don't know what to do with it.
When I received the heilroom stash, after a lot of staring, I decided to cut some 2" strips to play with. Those 'eyes' bothered me so much that I just left it like this and moved on.

But after the cross quilt and the baby princess, I couldn't stop thinking about these colours.
So I took all the scraps out and started using every single tiny bit. I came up with 4 almost squares. Lined them up, added more scraps, and took the difficult decision: 1 quilt instead of 4 pillows.
With the new walking foot things went really well, no pulling, no stretching with only 7 basting pins.
[I'm really sorry for the weird colours, me and the camera we're not 100% back together :)]
I hope it's safe to say I'm done with pink for a while. I finished almost all my pink fabrics so I should be safe :). However, crazy scrappy piecing gave me more ideas so there's another one on the way :). Not pink, I swear :)

Done
The tree small quilts. Really really simple, 5" squares, only if I had the fabric in charm packs :)
Plus, the heilroom quilt and the Echino one got themselves new names. Not bad at all for the third try with free motion, I might say.
I think I might have found that mojo I lost some time ago :)), 'cause I also made a huge pillow and a really really scrappy quilt, but I still need to take decent pictures.
P.S. Any ideas about writing names other than applique, embrodery or free motion would be very much appreciated.

Sneak peak
Remember my new kitchen?
With my white... everything? Well, here it is now :)
Husband had a great idea with the handles, we could only find small red ones and they just didn't look good. So we played with them a little :)
Even though it changed completely, I'm still in love with it and it's our favorite place in the house

A lot of WIP
An almost finish Echino baby quilt, just to take my mind off a not so beautiful week.
Unfortunately, my walking foot died. Again. And I was just not going to believe it. So I quilted and quilted, somehow hoping in the end it will look good. It didn't. I have a strong feeling I have to take all the quilting off and do it again.
So I got even more angry and I cut.
And rearranged a hundred times
And even super cleaned the sewing machine.
And cleaned the threads' box
And started 3 awsome baby quilts.
Now I am [not at all] patiently waiting for my walking foot. Isn't it a little too much 3 walking foots in one year?

Frustration
It seems I feel a lot of this these days...
I cannot make a decent picture. It's either my camera [more like we're in a little war here, I can't seem to figure her out], or the fact that none of the little fellows in my house are helping here...
I truly hope that for Sonia this is a better week :)

[That's Finn McMissile, in case you were wondering....]
I did start to give free motion a chance, things look like they could be done, but I can't say the same thing about making pics of pillows. I just suck at this!
Oh, wait, did I tell you I chose a new home for the fabrics in the giveaway and can't, for the love of God, remember where I saved the picture? So I have to chose again?
It's just one of those weeks, where nothing goes as it should!
I truly hope that for Sonia this is a better week :)

Ups - a little giveaway
GIVEAWAY CLOSED - Thank you very much for entering. I will draw a winner on Monday.
Posting about my kokeshi book made me see that my [pardon my lack of modesty :))] lovely blog is more than one year old and I didn't even notice.
I really feel like I should invite you to some tea and cookies, but since we're all quilters here, what better way to do it than with fabrics? So I jumped to my recently destashed stash and got a little something.
There are some really nice prints from Joel Dewberry Heirloom, my absolute favorite is the one on top. They are fat eights or so.

There are some really nice neutrals, Moda, Wendy Slotboom and Amy butler [18" square]
And a lot of charms. More than 50 [I carefully counted them and forgot after the first picture :)))] from different collections, I think I saw some It's a hoot, Lilly & Will, Bliss, Sugar Pop and Sweetwater. I think :D
But feel free to count :)))))
Just leave a comment telling me what you're wearing :))))))))) if you'd like to have them.
I'd love if you'd follow my blog too, but you don't have to do it for the giveaway only. However, you must have an e-mail address, either to your profile or the comment. No e-mail = no entry.
I would really like for my regular readers to have an extra chance. It's so nice not to have to talk alone.
So, if you know me [you're an old follower, we talked, we met, we exchanged mails, whatever:)], leave an extra comment. If some of you win, I will add something more, something I feel it's more you than the fabrics above.
I will ship all over the world, comments are open until Friday, October 28th, midnight romanian time [GMT +2h]
Two new pillows
I finally got a chance to play a little with the Go! cutter. I really love it, you know? :)
The only problem I really have with it, is that it doesn't piece :D. Really, cutting tumblers or circles is a PITA, but even when they're perfectly cut it's still darn hard to piece.
Anyway, for one of them I used the tumbler, for the other the drunkard's path. I love both of them equally.
But as I was taking pictures today, I realized that although my mom kept saying they are winterish :), they look so autumn to me. Don't ask me why, I just feel like I'm preparing for winter but I'm not there yet :)
Each of them has a zippered back and they look so much nicer than the envelope ones. I have to add zippers from now on!

I tried the rounded corners for the pillow because I keep planning a kokeshi quilt [for almost an year, since I received this kokeshi book] and the round corners were a must.
I'm adding this pillow to Rachel's Celebrate Colour in Home decor for Octomber. Just in case you didn't see what others made, you should really take a look.
I'm so ready for winter here :)
